Blogpost introducing the initiative Fair Advertising warning private companies that their advertisement appeared on websites spreading conspiracy theories.
The ability to make money online is one of many contributing factors to the spread of disinformation. To raise awareness about this problem, the Fair Advertising initiative was created in October 2019. This initiative notifies companies when their advertisements appear on websites known to be spreading disinformation so that they are aware that they are financially supporting these websites with their advertising payments.
