PSSI’s NATO Summer School Registration: NATO Under Authoritarian Assault (July 28-August 3, 2024)

Advance your career prospects this summer with our prestigious NATO Summer School (in its 19th year), an intensive one-week course that brings together a select group of graduate students and young professionals seeking to deepen their expertise with regard to the current threat environment and available policy options. 

The course consists of fifteen lectures by Czech and foreign security experts, including senior policy practitioners and scholars (both civil and military). Additionally, participants take part in a week-long international crisis simulation based on ongoing or realistic geopolitical circumstances.

  • Petr Pavel (former Chairman of the NATO Military Committee and sitting president of the Czech Republic)

  • Jiří Šedivý (Chief Executive of the European Defence Agency, Former Defence Minister of the Czech Republic and NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning)

  • Pál Dunay (Professor of NATO and European Security Issues at George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies)

  • Elisabeth Braw (Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute)

  • Yves Desbiens (NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence)

  • Mark Galeotti (Russia Expert, Senior Associate Fellow at RUSI)

Venue: Hotel Orlík (80 km from Prague), Czech Republic

  • Disinformation and Hybrid Threats

  • The Growing threat of China

  • Russia’s Continued War on Ukraine

Eligibility Criteria:

Graduate students in international relations, security studies, political science, and other relevant fields and young professionals in the formative stages of their careers. Fluency in English is required. If you are unsure about your eligibility, please do not hesitate to contact us.

€675 (apply before May 15, 2024)

*The fee includes: participation in all lectures and the simulation exercise, study materials, access to our speakers and senior visitors, accommodation in shared rooms from Sunday to Saturday, three meals per day, coffee breaks, access to the hotel’s wellness center (pool, sauna, fitness facilities), and transportation from Prague to the venue and back.
