PSSI Regional Security Program's Western Balkans team welcomed regional experts for a two-day workshop, held in Prague on October 7-8, 2022. The workshop focused on external actors' influence, democratic backsliding and current challenges, including the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Balkan experts and PSSI shared the current status of their research and project activities and the main priorities for the upcoming months.

Besides the internal team debates, the program also included an expert roundtable with Director of the Foreign Policy Analysis and Planning Department at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic (MFA), Jan Šnaidauf, and Head of the Western Balkans Unit, Southern and Southeastern Europe Department at MFA, Igor Procházka.

The workshop and roundtable were organized by PSSI within a project, entitled: "The Western Balkans at the Crossroads: Democratic Backsliding and External Actors’ Influence”, kindly supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
