Mr. Todd Harrison, Director of Defense Budget Analysis and Director of the Aerospace Security Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, delivered an online guest lecture entitled “Threats to Space Systems and Protection of Space Assets” on April 25, 2022.

The lecture entitled “Threats to Space Systems and Protection of Space Assets” discussed trends in space security, threats to space systems, and ways satellite operators can improve the protection of space systems. It looked in detail at the types of counterspace weapons being developed and fielded, particularly by Russia and China, and recent developments in the testing and use of counterspace weapons. It also explored the range of defenses possible to protect space systems and the policy issues posed by dual-use capabilities and reversible forms of attack.

As a senior fellow in the International Security Program, he leads the Center’s efforts to provide in-depth, nonpartisan research and analysis of defense funding, space security, and air power issues.
