Corporate Council Program
The Corporate Council Program was established in the fall of 2003 in recognition of the educational benefits of integrating the management and decision-making skills of leading business executives from across the globe into the life and future growth of PSSI. This program is guided by Hon. William F. Martin, who serves as its Chairman.
The growth strategy for the Corporate Council involves constructing mutually reinforcing relationships between large multinational corporations and PSSI. Interested companies would, for example, send executives to conduct informal seminars with our security scholars, assist in supporting the Institute financially and, where appropriate, mentor one or more of our students on certain business and public policy “case studies.” The pursuit of actual economic development projects in the Czech Republic and throughout the region are designed to expose our students to the strategies, research taskings, and other requirements associated with executing an international project from planning to implementation. There exist numerous parallels to the public policy arena.
In return, the Institute provides Corporate Council members with access to some of the finest young minds in the Czech Republic and the region as well as conferences, seminars and roundtables often relevant to business interests.
Finally, we are persuaded that the dynamic that will develop between corporate executives and our security scholars will lead to possible internships and employment opportunities that would otherwise not be available to Czech and other students. Given the increasing prominence of international economics and finance in the security and foreign policy calculations of the world’s policy-makers, our Corporate Council is configured to provide “real world” learning experiences for our students.
