Daniel McMichael, Chairman — Independent consultant and analyst in foreign, security and defense affairs, newspaper columnist, novelist, former Chairman of President Reagan’s Strategic Minerals Task Force, currently a director of Harvard University’s Center for Information Policy Research, and secretary for the Sarah Scaife and Carthage Foundations. James Q. Whitaker — Director of Laboratories at the Pathology Institute of Middle Georgia, and Middle Georgia Laboratory, and an M.D. in anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology, a member of several prestigious medical associations and a major public policy philanthropist. Curtin Winsor, Jr. — Former U.S. Ambassador to Costa Rica, Deputy Director of the Alliance for Free Enterprise, Special Emissary to the Middle East for President-elect Ronald Reagan, Manager for International Affairs of the Washington Office of Chase Manhattan Bank, and former President of the Legislative Studies Institute. Amb. Winsor’s rich professional background and wealth of experience in forming and advising non-governmental, non-profit institutions is highly valued by PSSI. Top

Roger W. Robinson, Jr. — Former Senior Director of International Economic Affairs at the White House National Security Council, Vice President in the International Department of the Chase Manhattan Bank, and currently Chairman of the Congressionally-mandated U.S. – China Economic and Security Review Commission and President and CEO of Conflict Securities Advisory Group, Inc. He is Co-Founder of PSSI, along with Executive Director Oldřich Černý, and has worked to establish a security studies presence in Prague for nearly a decade. Top

Jan Ruml — Signatory to Charter 77, former Minister of the Interior, member of the Czechoslovak Federal Assembly, former Deputy of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Co-Founder of the Union of Freedom political party, leader of the Union of Freedom, and formerly a Senator of the Czech Parliament serving as a Vice-Chairman of the Senate. Senator Ruml’s leadership and experience are contributing substantially to PSSI’s development and growth. Top

Ingrid Aielli — Business affairs professional, philanthropist, fundraiser, and restaurateur. A native of Slovakia, Ms. Aielli has won numerous awards for her efforts in the non-profit sector and is active on the boards of several organizations. Her restaurant, Teatro Goldoni, is one of Washington, DC’s most frequented by the policymaking community. Top

Antonín Berdych — President of the Association for International Affairs and a valued participant in the first year of the Robinson-Martin Security Scholars Program. Mr. Berdych brings his student’s perspective to the Executive Committee as well as his creative energies. Top

Jan Jirák — Former Chairman of the Czech Television Council, editor of KMIT Quarterly, and currently professor in the Department of Mass Communication in the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Deputy Chair of the Center for Media Studies at Charles University. Prof. Jirak’s long background as an educator within the Czech university system has been indispensable in forging PSSI’s partnership with Charles University. Top

Alejandro Chafuen — Author, lecturer, and currently President and CEO of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation. Dr. Chafuen’s extensive experience with the creation, development, and support of international non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting and protecting economic and political freedom is widely recognized in the U.S. and abroad. Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. — Former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Forces and Arms Control Policy. Mr. Gaffney is founder and President of the Center for Security Policy; his columns and op-ed pieces are widely distributed in a number of major U.S. and international publications. Mr. Gaffney’s public policy leadership will help enrich and advance PSSI’s growth. Top
