Guest Lecture with John Stopher

Dr. John Stopher, a Senior Fellow supporting PSSI’s Space Security Program, previously serving as the Principal Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force for Space, delivered a guest lecture entitled “The United States Space Force” for students attending “Space Security in the 21st Century” course, part of PSSI/Charles University’s Master’s Degree Program in International Security Studies and the interested public.

Mr. Stopher introduced significant changes in the way the United States organizes, trains, equips, and conducts operations across its national security space enterprise. He also discussed what has led to these changes, the status of these efforts, and the strategic implications. In this connection, he provided an overview of the recent re-establishment of the US Space Command and the establishment of a new service – the US Space Force.
