Vacancy Announcement: Project Coordinator – Space Security Program

The Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI) is seeking a Project Coordinator to join its Space Security Program. Working under the direction of PSSI’s Managing Director and Director of Operations, the Project Coordinator will support the implementation and further development of the Space Security Program, with a particular focus on research and analysis of the economic and financial dimensions of space security. A central responsibility of the position will be the management, maintenance, and further development of PSSI’s Space Security Database, including research, data collection, verification, and analysis. The Project Coordinator will also contribute to the broader activities of the program, working closely with colleagues on research and publications, guest lectures, conferences, and other programmatic initiatives.

As part of a small and dynamic team, the successful candidate should be comfortable taking ownership of projects while also contributing wherever needed. The position offers substantial exposure to cutting-edge space security research, international experts and policymakers, and the practical implementation of an internationally oriented security policy program.

About PSSI’s Space Security Program

Launched in 2010, PSSI’s Space Security Program has developed into an internationally recognized platform for research, analysis, and policy engagement on space security, with particular expertise in its economic and financial dimensions.

The program conducts research on emerging risks and strategic developments affecting the space domain, works with an international network of experts and policy decision-makers, and organizes the prestigious Prague Space Security Conference, which has become a leading international NGO-led conference series dedicated to space security.

Key Responsibilities

OSINT Research: Discover, digest, and integrate data points into PSSI’s database and craft analyses.
Database Management: Oversee the administration of our PostgreSQL database, which is hosted on AWS.
Writing and Proofing: Synthesize findings into written reports, own conclusions, and manage various contributions and voices from internal and external partners.
Promotional Activities: Collaborate with the PR Coordinator to promote publications and events, create copy for social media posts, and other promotional materials.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records regarding research conducted and ensure internal standards are accurate and up to date.
Support Educational Activities: Assist in organizing smaller educational events or workshops related to the Space Security team’s activities.
Improvement and Development of the Program: Contribute ideas for improving programmatic operations on an ongoing basis. Be comfortable developing out and lobbying for future-proofed solutions.

Requirements

Proficiency in Czech/Slovak and English: Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both languages.
Excellent Time Management Skills: Strong skills in managing time, along with balancing multiple deliverables effectively.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to coordinate efforts with internal teams and external partners effectively.
Teamwork: Ability to work well in a deeply collaborative international environment.
Adaptability: Flexibility and openness to adapt to various organizational and project requirements.
Self-Starter Approach: Ability to anticipate needs, propose effective solutions to the team, and solve problems independently.
Familiarity with Security Policies: Awareness of the NATO, EU, and Czech security policy environment.
Commitment to Values: Commitment to the Institute’s values and mission.
Versatile Technical Toolbox: Experience with tools and skills related to the Google and Microsoft suite, along with SQL is a must; knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud tools, WordPress/Wix, Python, and JavaScrip is a plus.

What We Offer

Location: Prague, Czech Republic
Position Type: Full-time (40h/week), with flexible working hours and remote working days during the week
Compensation: 40,000-45,000 CZK depending on qualifications and expertise
Suitable for: Recent BA/MA graduates and Ph.D. students seeking professional experience in space security and allied partnerships
Expected Start Date: November 2026
