Stephen R. Christensen is a Resident Fellow at the Prague Security Studies Institute. A native of California, Mr. Christensen holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California, a Master’s degree in International Relations from New York University, and a master certificate in Applied Project Management from Villanova University.
Since 2009, Mr. Christensen has consulted for NGOs, private sector companies, and governments on foreign policy, civil society and economic development issues. In 2010, he conducted research for PSSI on US-Czech relations, and worked with PSSI staff on the coordination of two international conferences regarding US-Visegrad Four sustainable energy security and NATO’s new Strategic Concept. He currently works on the Institute’s policy research initiatives, particularly in the realm of transatlantic relations with an emphasis on US-Central European relations. His writings and media commentaries have been featured in various international publications and news outlets, including the International Herald Tribune, Czech TV, Hospodářské Noviny, Kyiv Post, EurActiv Online, NATO aktual, European Dialogue, iDNES, Česká Pozice and the Prague Daily Monitor. In 2011, Mr. Christensen researched US-Czech relations as a Visiting Fellow at New York University, Prague through its Global Research Initiative.
In addition to his work at PSSI, Mr. Christensen is an External Lecturer at Charles University's Master of Arts in American Studies program, where he lectures on contemporary perspectives on US foreign policy and grand strategy.
