Security Sector Reform in Moldova and Kosovo

The main objective of the Security Reform projects was to provide the participants from Moldova and Kosovo countries with know-how gathered during the transformation of foreign and security agenda in the Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia) in the 1990s.

These projects were based on sharing both successes and failures of the transformation process, organized in a form of series of meetings with and briefings by current and former Czech security policy experts and practitioners from parliament, government (Foreign, Defense and Interior ministries), as well as broader security and intelligence community.

Each project combined interactive presentations and formal briefings at the Czech MFA and MOD. The aim of the project was to provide an overview of Czech security reforms and to prepare a creation of a know-how module on security reform. This included providing the participants with a database of documents (reader with texts of relevant laws, national security strategies and other official documents) and available expert speakers, as well as a program of custom tailored consultations.
