Regional Outreach Program

The Prague Security Studies Institute coordinates a range of outreach activities beyond its core academic, research and security policy endeavors.

The main purpose of these seminars and workshops is to contribute to democratic institution-building in the post-communist countries and to share the know-how, technical expertise and professional experiences gained during the transition process in the Czech Republic. These gatherings, primarily with graduate students and young professional, seek to share both the successes and failures of the transformation process. They are organized in a form of a series of meetings with, and briefings by, current and former senior Czech security policy experts and officials from the Parliament, the government (i.e. the Foreign, Defense, and Interior Ministries) and the intelligence community.

Such sessions are generally about one week in duration and provide rigorous training on the construction of a free, democratic society, with the able assistance of high-level policy practitioners and other senior experts from a number of fields.
