The 7th Annual Atlas Liberty Forum in Philadelphia
On Tuesday, April 24, PSSI was among the privileged recipients of the 2007 Templeton Freedom Award. It won in the category of Student Outreach primarily because of the Institute’s unique and growing relationship with the prestigious Charles University in the field of Security Studies. PSSI was also recognized as a regional hub for the education and training of new generations of security policy practitioners in this critical discipline.
The occasion of the award was the 7th Annual Atlas Liberty Forum held in Philadelphia under the auspices of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation. The Atlas Foundation also administers the Templeton Freedom Awards and Prizes named after Sir John Templeton, the noted philanthropist and financial luminary.
Along with this honor was a grant to PSSI from the Templeton Foundation, via the Atlas Economic Research Foundation, of ,000. PSSI Executive Director and Co-Founder Oldřich Černý, received the award on behalf of the Institute. Also attending the ceremony was the PSSI’s other Co-Founder, Roger Robinson, and Jana Kosarkova, Acting Director of PSSI’s new Washington office.
