On February 22-23, 2007, PSSI Fellow Jan Havranek participated in a symposium on "Operation Althea and the prospects of the EU's engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina."
The roundtable was organized by PSSI partner institutions, the International Institute of Political Science of Masaryk University and the Polish Institute of International Affairs. The workshop evaluated the present EU military and political involvement in Bosnia as well as future strategies for the region.
Jan Havranek presented the main conclusion from the PSSI's 3rd annual conference on Business and Security and underlined the relevance of the subject for the post-conflict environment of Bosnia and the Balkans. His presentation focused on Bosnian arms exports to other conflict zones and Bosnian connection to terrorism financing networks.
