Roundtable on recent political developments in Egypt

On March 12, 2012 The Prague Security Studies Institute, in cooperation with the Heinrich Boell Stiftung Foundation, organized a round table with Noha Ali Atef, an Egyptian research assistant and PhD candidate at Birmingham City University. Her PhD research focuses on social media networks, citizen journalism and other alternative media forms. Her professional experience includes more than five years of work in mainstream media around the Arab world (Egypt, Qatar and Lebanon) in TV, documentary and printed press. 

During the roundtable, Noha paid particular attention to the role of civil society in Egypt before and after the Arab spring, in addition to addressing the Muslim-Coptic relations, the role of Islamic parties in Egyptian politics, the question of leadership in today's Egypt, and  future of the peace treaty with Israel.
